William S. Cahn
Percussion

Mr. William Cahn has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education and Performance from the Eastman School of Music at the University of Rochester, and a Master of Music in Performance from Catholic University, Washington D. C. He has been teaching at DeVoe’s Music since 1981 teaching many students including the current owner of the store. His own teachers have included Cloyd Duff and Robert Pangborn, both of the Cleveland Orchestra as well as Alan Abel of the Philadelphia Orchestra. In addition to his long teaching experience at Settlement Music School (1969-Present) and Cardinal Dougherty High School (19711997), Mr. Cahn has performed as timpanist in the Eastman Wind Ensemble, the United States Air Force Concert Band, and as percussionist in the Air Force Ceremonial Unit. Currently he continues to perform in the Greater Philadelphia Region in addition to his teaching.
